As the holiday craze dies down, I can’t help but think about how nice it would be to relax on the sand of a warm North Carolina beach right about now. Unfortunately winter seems to have finally shown up and I’m stranded inside wrapped in blankets. My thin southern skin isn’t too happy with the cold, but thankfully Blue Moon has a few local photographers whose beautiful work gives me a little taste of beachy serenity. P. J. Nelligan Photography has captured a breath taking sunset that I can’t help but love. I can almost feel the sun’s warmth looking at the golden sand and shore.
Mike Bryand captured this beautiful shot of Kure Beach after Hurricane Irene. The water is still churning from the treacherous storm, but the colors are perfectly serene. Mother Nature has such an terrifying majesty about her and this shot captures it all. If you come by Blue Moon looking for something special, don’t forget any of Bryand’s work can be custom ordered on canvas or print. It is also rumored that he will release a new batch of coasters in 2013… check our Facebook for more updates about the Coaster King’s ever-expanding empire!
A Golden Memory has captured the natural beauty of Fort Fisher in this shot. This coastal Carolina treasure is such a fun place to explore. The sea shore, aquarium, and historical sites offer such an adventurous time… but this picture just makes me want to set up an umbrella and throw up my feet. Few things compare to the escape this hidden beach offers, and this picture is such a wonderful reminder of the peace that can be found in the chaos of everyday life. Come by Blue Moon to see it for yourself!
Ned Leary’s photography book See What I See is a beautiful depiction of Carolina beauty. This book is filled with gorgeous photographs of the many sights to see at Wrightsville Beach. We can’t seem to keep it in stock for more than a week, so if you have a Wrightsville lover in your life hurry in!
Summer might be a ways way, but the wonderful thing about Wilmington is the beach is never far away… hot or cold! Our local photographers keep us in touch with our nautical sense all year round. Come on to Blue Moon today to get your taste of serenity!
