I have to start off by saying that I am not a peanut person (no I am not made of peanuts nor do I particularly like them). That’s not saying that I don’t want to….. I have tried so many different types of peanuts. Sometimes I feel like Charlie Brown with the football, that although I’m pretty sure that it’s not going to happen for me, I just have to try it anyway.
Now by this point in my life I’m a little jaded on the peanut. I love pecans, almonds, walnuts, macadamia nuts…. in fact I can’t really can’t think of a nut that I am not a fan of! Enter Bakers’ Peanuts….. this family owned and operated company takes the peanut business seriously by controlling every aspect of the process from planting their fields to packaging and distributing the product. When I was first offered a taste of Bakers’ Peanuts (lightly salted) I was a bit hesitant, considering my sorted past with the nut known as peanut, but feeling like that little boy who just wants so badly to punt a football, I said pass ‘em over. I had already braced myself for the typical disappointment but I was surprisingly pleased! These are by far the best peanuts that I have ever tried! The combination of crunch and wonderful FRESH peanut taste is what I had always expected it should be. Now I can’t get enough. Unsalted, Lightly Salt (for fun I mix them together!), or Cajun…..I am hooked! Bakers’ takes pride in cultivating their product. Whether they leave them in all of their peanuty goodness, just compliment them with some salt or spices, or they dip them in chocolate (yes I said chocolate) Bakers’ has the peanut business down to a fine art!
