Celebrating the Stars and Stripes

In preparation for our own 4th of July plans, we stumbled upon this delicious recipe for Patriotic Punch! In addition to the punch being red, white, and blue, the ice cubes are shaped like stars! I’ve been eying the star-shaped ice trays from The Kitchen Shop at Blue Moon, and now I finally have an excuse to buy them! I can’t wait to wow my friends with this treat! Iced Tea Addiction

Apparently I’m not the only one who’s addicted to iced tea right now. This refreshing pic is from the blog Katherine’s Tea Pot.  (She’s devoted an entire blog to tea… very fun.) And I just learned that June is National Iced Tea Month.  According to,  “Legend has it that a tea vendor at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis popularized the drink. When visitors to the sweltering event turned down free hot tea, he ran it through iced pipes to chill the beverage. Word quickly spread about his cold tea.” Even if it’s not 100% historically accurate, I choose to believe it happened that way. (more…)
